A machine developed as the "ultimate Gundam," as part of the AEUG's Project Zeta.
Like the transforming and separating ZZ Gundam also developed under Project Zeta, it has a transformation mechanism made up of three units that can dock and separate. It is also built with the very latest movable frame, making it a flexible and high-performance machine.
Its armament includes a high-output beam smartgun and a quasi-psycommu remote weapon called an incom that is stored in its head.
This gives the machine extremely high offensive power, while its thruster propulsion and the stabilators installed all over its body provide excellent mobility and maneuverability.
The quest for technological supremacy was very nearly achieved with this machine.
Its most distinctive trait is the installation of an artificial intelligence system called ALICE.
Which can analyze the combat situation on its own and, ultimately, take control of the entire machine and its complex systems.
By entrusting control to ALICE, it could rival the performance of a Newtype machine.
When the S Gundam was assigned to the Federation's elite Task Force Alpha, ALICE was configured to operate behind the scenes in order to conceal it from those who feared the spread of unmanned mobile suits.
