Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: Define

Zero-Shiki
A mobile suit developed by Edvard Raven, an engineer who once served as an assistant to the chief engineer responsible for Gundam development, Tem Ray. While developing the mobile suit that would succeed the Rick Dias—the first to meet second-generation specifications—the Z Project was launched, which dramatically enhanced mobility through a transformation mechanism, but at the cost of an accompanying deformation mechanism that introduced problems with frame strength, resulting in the project's discontinuance.
The concept of a mobile suit capable of operating both on land and in space continued to garner interest, however, and the unit was redesigned as a non-deformable data collector.
It has more design similarities with the Rick Dias than the Hyaku Shiki, but the head resembles that of the Z Gundam.
Experimental in nature, the many trials and errors of the Z Project are apparent throughout, but this particular unit's versatility is undeniable.
Its dubious defensive capabilities aside, one could say that it effectively established itself as a high-performance example among second-generation mobile suits. Despite being piloted by Quattro Bajeena and allegedly decked out in red like the Rick Dias (calling to mind Char Aznable), the very existence of this mobile suit is often called into question.
