A high-performance Gundam-type mobile suit, developed at the Augusta base on Earth as part of the Federation Forces' next-generation development plan known as the G-4 Project.
Its drive and control systems incorporate the very latest technology for use by Newtypes.
The entire drive system uses magnet coating technology, and a panoramic monitor provides a wider field of view during visual-range combat.
It also features a linear seat that reduces damage from impact and vibration, reducing the strain on the pilot.
Originally, this machine was slated for assignment to the 13th Independent Unit, rumored to be a Newtype corps.
However, it was attacked by a Zeon special forces team during its final testing, resulting in its partial destruction and preventing its deployment.

She goes by the nickname "Chris."
She has a mild and kind personality, but also shows strength.
When it comes to her duties, she is competitive and has a strong sense of responsibility.
Her exceptional skills got her assigned to the elite Tactical Research Group.
After the Newtype MS Alex was developed and the G-4 Corps was established, she was chosen as the Alex's pilot.
The final adjustments to the Alex are to be made in her hometown, the Libot colony at Side 6.
She returns home and reencounters her childhood friend Alfred Izuruha.
