One of the Gundam Astray series of prototype Mobile Suits developed by Morgenroete Inc.(an Orb Company) utilizing misappropriated GAT-X series data.
They never adopted Phase Shift Armor, but by utilizing a foam metal for the armor and cutting back considerably on armor bulk, the Red Frame came out much lighter, giving it an incredible level of agility.
It also enabled the use of Beam Weapons that never made it to full adoption by ZAFT Mobile Suits at the time.
This is the second of the Gundam Astrays, intended to be a testbed for ways to allow Naturals to pilot Mobile Suits.
It utilizes an unfinished prototype OS.
It was built in the neutral colony Heliopolis, but when the colony was destroyed in a battle between ZAFT's Creuset Team and the Earth Alliance's forces, it was recovered by Lowe Guele of the Junk Guild, who made it his own personal machine from that point forward.
Due to the heavy energy consumption of Beam Sabers, it is equipped with a gigantic suit-sized katana called the Gerbera Straight, which it uses as its primary armament.
