A mobile suit rebuilt from the GAT-X105 Strike that survived the last great war using spare parts that belonged to the Rogue that were provided by Cagalli.
When Phase Shift is activated, the color of its armor conforms to the Alliance's Strike.
On the other hand, its Twin Eye is green because it incorporates spare parts from the Rouge.
It is designed to perform like the first-generation GAT-X105 Strike, and some of its components cannot keep up with Kira's abilities as an ace pilot.
Nevertheless, by replacing worn and deteriorated parts with new ones, it maintains a high level of performance at the limit of its design in terms of responsiveness and durability.
The DRAGOON Striker was completed at Orb and the Factory using design data from a prototype Striker Pack for DRAGOON operation planned by the Alliance.
Kira, having learned of the DRAGOON System's existence when he engaged the Providence, wanted to incorporate it on a trial basis.
The Dragoon Striker evolved from the AQM/E-X04 Gun Barrel Striker, which operated four Wired Gunbarrels, and comes equipped with three completely separate DRAGOONs.
During the design stage, it became clear that the Strike's generator did not produce sufficient power output.
However, by connecting multiple battery packs—the same used in the Perfect Strike—a bespoke solution was finally arrived at.
While the DRAGOON Striker had issues with the energy efficiency of its generator, its firepower was ideal.
After Kira lost the Freedom, he used the DRAGOON Striker to respond to emergencies, which proved useful in providing him with combat experience in a mobile suit equipped with the DRAGOON System.
It is possible that Kira's experience with the DRAGOON Striker was one reason he was able to adapt so quickly to the DRAGOON System in the Strike Freedom.
