A Celestial Being 3rd-generation Gundam, developed for actual combat based on the 2nd-gen Gundams' test data.
With a solar-powered GN Drive to provide virtually limitless amounts of energy and heretofore unseen handheld Beam Weapons, its performance far exceeds any current Mobile Suit.
It is also equipped with a Trans-Am System, which releases stored, highly-compressed particles from every surface to boost its output to nearly three times its specifications for a short time.
The GN Particles generated by the Drive make the Exia an astoundingly agile close-combat machine even among other Gundams of its generation.
Specialized for close fights, its weaponry includes four Beam Sabers and three swords, a combination which gave it the development code "Seven Swords."
The swords' ability to cut through a defensive GN Shield makes it evident that this model was made to fight Gundams.

One of Celestial Being's Gundam Meisters.
A young man who fights to eliminate war, Setsuna is the Meister for Gundam Exia, which resides on the Ptolemaios. He calls himself "Gundam."
Born and raised in the Middle Eastern Republic of Krugis, Setsuna became embroiled in war at a young age and fought as a child soldier. He was saved by the 0 Gundam, which led to him eventually becoming one of Celestial Being's Gundam Meisters.
Relatively cold and calculating for his age, he tends to dislike interacting with others. His encounter with Marina Ismail, Princess of Azadistan, and his experiences fighting alongside his fellow Gundam Meisters inspired considerable character growth.
The name Setsuna F. Seiei is a codename within Celestial Being. His real name is Soran Ibrahim.
