A Celestial Being 3rd-generation Gundam, developed for actual combat based on the 2nd-gen Gundams' test data.
With a solar-powered GN Drive to provide virtually limitless amounts of energy and heretofore unseen handheld Beam Weapons, its performance far exceeds any current Mobile Suit.
It is also equipped with a Trans-Am System, which releases stored, highly-compressed particles from every surface to boost its output to nearly three times its specifications for a short time.
The GN Particles generated by the Drive make the Exia an astoundingly agile close-combat machine even among other Gundams of its generation.
Specialized for close fights, its weaponry includes four Beam Sabers and three swords, a combination which gave it the development code "Seven Swords."
The swords' ability to cut through a defensive GN Shield makes it evident that this model was made to fight Gundams.
