This mobile suit was the result of the Federation, after having successfully mass produced GMs, combining their technologies to research and develop the next generation of mobile suits.
As a prototype that was completed by incorporating various contemporary technologies, the RX-80, which served as a template, was an incredibly appealing high-performance unit.
However, the costs of producing and operating such a unit rendered it difficult to deploy as a mass production model.
As a result, it was requisitioned by a certain research organization to serve as an experimental unit.
Once requisitioned, this mobile suit became a test unit and was fitted with the special EXAM-adjacent HADES system in order to substantially bolster its performance, receiving modifications in line with this system as well.
